Starting your day right by eating the correct foods for breakfast is vital for those working out. However, even the best of us can get stuck in a rut and eat the same boring foods, day in day out, which can sometimes lead to people choosing to skip breakfast. Fortunately, MaxiNutrition has some great ideas to get you buzzing for breakfast again.
Breakfast you’ll want to get out of bed for
Research shows that a staggering one third of us regularly miss the hailed ‘most important meal of the day’. Breakfast is really important for setting up your day right by kick starting your metabolism and offers much needed calories and essential nutrients which your body hasn’t had for hours during sleep.
Lack of time on a morning can be the reason so many of us skip the most important meal of the day. Many would rather hit the snooze button and have an extra 10 minutes in bed rather than sit at the breakfast table.
Here, we offer some great breakfast ideas which you’ll want to get out of bed for:
Apricot, Cranberry And Maple Syrup Bircher
A simple recipe stacked with loads of flavour. Grab a re-sealable container and mix together; ½ cup oats, 2 cut up dried apricots, ¼ cup mixed seeds, ¼ cup cranberries, ½ cup milk, 1 tsp maple syrup (2 if you’re feeling naughty). Pop the lid on and leave in the fridge overnight. Grab a spoon to enjoy straight away in the morning.
Banana And Chocolate Protein Smoothie
If you’re working out, you’ll be looking for a breakfast that is stacked with protein. Try adding a scoop of Chocolate Whey Protein Isolate to a convenient on-the-go smoothie for an extra protein hit. Whizz one large banana in a blender with about 200 ml almond milk (quantity depending on how thick you like your smoothies). Add 1 scoop Maximuscle Chocolate Whey Protein Isolate and blend until thoroughly mixed.
Fruit Bread Sandwich
If you’re struck for time, try toasting 2 slices of fruit bread and sandwich together with cut up banana in-between to munch while you’re on your way to work.
Raspberry Protein Porridge
Another way to stack some protein in at breakfast time is with your porridge. Take your porridge to the next level by adding 1 scoop of raspberry protein powder and topping with fresh banana and a dash of honey.
Peanut Butter Overnight Oats
Overnight oats are a great way to save time on a morning. Prepare the night before so they are ready to pick up first thing on a morning. Mix together ½ cup oats, ½ cup milk, 1 tsp honey, 1 tbsp peanut butter and grate an apple over the top to give it extra crunch before replacing the lid and placing in the fridge overnight.
